Hmm... Dec 31...

It's that time of year... where I shun the whole New Years Resolution concept, and continue living my life as I see fit. :) But, if you happen to be the type who actually DOES try to stick with a resolution, how about just doing a 101 Goals in 1,001 days list instead? Why just pick one lousy thing to do this year? You can do SO much more and be SO much better! Fill up that list with everything you want to do, and everything you want to be!

Or not.

It's your call.

If you prefer, just watch everyone chase their dreams, and sit back and relax as you stay mediocre.

Woo-hoo! Loving My New Distraction!

So, Ken has been playing a bit (ok - he's been playing non-stop) The Sims 3, and I finally broke down, installed it on my computer... and it's great! It's quite a refreshing break from those 101 in 1001. Which reminds me... I' progressing through #4 my week without Facebook quite nicely! (I've gotta be getting close to finishing that one!) And, I nearly have one audiobook finished as well too (towards #19 - Listen to 10 books on tape). Now, let's see if I have the willpower to complete some new goals... with this newest Sims 3 distraction! :P

#77 - Get a better name for this blog - Done!

In case you don't want to look up... it's now titled:

#13 Paint & stencil bathroom - DONE!

OK - the bathroom is painted, and it looks SO good, that I don't even want to stencil it! We're going to get some new light switch covers, and small "accessories", but besides that, it's good to go... so I'm labeling this one complete! Check out my plea for help to my niece Paige,  and my after photos :)

Here's Before:

And After:
(And, it looks WAY better in person! :)

More Goals "In Progress"

Yesterday, I (ok, with some help from Ken) actually painted out bathroom! We went from a bright blue to a silvery-blue color, and it looks great! Now, I'm bound and determined to find some kick-ass stencils... which will be metallic silver. Here are what I might be using...

I've also started #4 Not log in to Facebook for a week - which has been quite painless so far. And, I've gotten a LOT accomplished in the meantime!

Wow! Lots Of Help From Everywhere

Today, help with my goals seemed to be popping up everywhere!

As I was sitting in New London, Ken's mom walks up to me with two thingies of yarn, and some yarn sticks (yes, I checked, and "thingies" and "yarn sticks" are, in fact, the technical terms) and says, very matter-of-factly, "I'm going to show you how to crochet." Which, she did! Though the bit of knowledge I have is more than I have ever known, I'm still going to focus a bit more on honing this craft before I check it off my list.

Then, I get a voice mail from Lori, giving me with a subtitled movie recommendation -Lola Rennt - which does look excellent. I'll be looking for that at the local book/video store.

And, Tina, sends me a link of how to speak the alphabet in Japanese! I haven't gone through it yet, but fully intend to!

All of this help makes me think that maybe, just maybe, I really can accomplish these goals! Thanks everyone!

1 Down, 1000 To Go!

So, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about my new endeavor. I've got a few goals underway already, and a few planned out.

#2 - I'm currently on page 256 of Atlas Shrugged (out of 1075)... so I've got a good start on it.
#13 - We're planning (and by we, I mean Ken) to paint the bathroom on Sunday, and we've already got new rugs picked out. I've even narrowed down my stencil ideas... so that's certainly a goal in progress.
#36 - Yup - doing my best to create and keep up with this blog

So far, so good!

#49 Take The Family To Church - Complete!

It's just day 1, and I've already got 1 goal in the bag! Phoenix, Ken, and I just got back from the Christmas Eve mass, and it was quite entertaining. I decided to eschew the baby/toddler soundproof room for the regular seating area, which enabled more people to view Phoenix's antics, including (but not limited to) attempting to crawl under the pew to the people in front of us, occasional random outburst of noise (in a room so quite you can hear a pin drop), and perfectly aiming his sippy cup to squirt formula on Daddy & the nice lady he was sitting next to! (Aah, it's good to be back home, where he can be as loud as he wants to again!)
